Masato Yasui - Profile
He joined Headway in 2002. Since then, he has gained experience in making acoustic guitars under Yasuo Momose, a craftsman, and chief technology officer of Headway that has been around since the beginning. Eventually, he will stand out and actively introduce new production tools and processes to the team such as the introduction of NC routing technology. In 2010, he launched the "Aska Team Build" with himself as the master builder and team leader.
In 2016, he was selected as the second builder of Headway's finest line, the Custom Shop series, which had been operating solely under the leadership of Yasuo Momose. In all Custom Shop model that Yasui makes, you can find his influence as a builder and the representation of his way of making guitar where he boldly promotes the introduction of new designs and technologies based on the fresh ideas and flexible way of thinking that he has sported for a long time. All of his original models end up shaping into an original guitar that has never been seen before in the Headway lineup. We are also working on a number of innovative designs and specifications such as "grooved bonding" that fixates the bracing in place through carefully designed indentations rather than just being glued in place, and "bearing truss rod" that adjusts the neck evenly using bearings. A new generation leader of Headway who has not only the knowledge about the technologies needed, but also a perspective that takes the big picture into consideration, flexible ideas, and the ability to execute those ideas.
